Xbox X vs PlayStation 5

For as long as I could remember there has always been a “this Vs that” for example Coca Cola Vs Pepsi, Samsung vs Apple, Starwars Vs Startrek, Etc. But the one that throws my family into a debate all the time has to be PlayStation Vs Xbox. For some reason my cousins are always arguing about which console is better, I never understood the passion they had when they were arguing since most of them would just scream “Mine is better!” without any solid information on why. So, I decided to make a not so great financial decision a couple of years ago and decided to purchase both the Xbox X and the PlayStation 5 standard.

Starting off we are going to talk about hardware and performance of the two consoles, I am a very impatient person so, loading times on a console is a pretty big deal to me. Both consoles are pretty fast. The Xbox’s SSD has a I/O throughput of 2.4 GBps (raw) and 4.8 GBps (compressed). The PlayStation 5 has a I/O through put of 5.5 GBps (raw) and a 9.0 GBps (compressed). Some people think that PlayStation wins Xbox in everything but when comparing the two on cold booting them Xbox beats PlayStation by 4.21 seconds, with Xbox being at 21.35 seconds and PlayStation 25.56 seconds. Waking the two consoles from sleep Xbox takes the lead as well with a 4.44 seconds and PlayStation 5.11 seconds. The game that I decided to play side by side was Fortnite since I feel like everyone has played that game at least once in their life, if

you have not that’s fine. When comparing the game on both consoles I realized that Xbox had a difficult time stabilizing the 60 or 120 FPS, while the PlayStation seemed to be stable most of the time. I will say the color graphics look better on the Xbox then on the PlayStation 5, on the PlayStation 5 the colors seem a little washed out. Xbox’s CPU is an AMD Zen 2, 8-core @3.8 GHz while PlayStation 5 AMD Zen 2, 8-core @ 3.5. Xbox’s GPU is an AMD RDNA 2, 12 TFLOPS and the PlayStation 5 is AMD RDNA 2, 10.3 TFLOPs. Differences that seem small but make a big difference if you are paying attention. Both Xbox and PlayStation both Have a RAM of 16 GB GDDR6 which has increased over the years. Now when it comes to storage Xbox takes the lead with having 1 TB custom NVMe SSD and PlayStation is at 825 GB custom NVMe SSD.

The resolution/ frame that Xbox and PlayStation have up to 4k @ 120 FPS, but like I said earlier it depends on what game because the Xbox console had a difficult time stabilizing the 60 and 120 FPS. Now let’s talk about compatibility something that I really like that Xbox kept up with was letting us use most Xbox one, Xbox 360, and the original Xbox games on the new Xbox X, While the PlayStation 5 only let’s you with most PlayStation 4 games. Something that really bothers me about consoles is them having exclusive games, yes, it is very smart of them to do that because it get’s them more buyers. I remember wanting to play the video game “The last

of us” but I later found out it was only compatible on PlayStation and PC. Some video games that are exclusively on Xbox are Halo infinite (difficult game for me, I rage quit most of the time), Forza, Starfield, and there is probably more but those are the ones that I can remember. The games that are exclusively on PlayStation 5 are Spider-Man 2 (I have the game card but I have yet to set it up), Demon’s Soul’s, God of War: Ragnarök, and like I said there is probably more but those are the ones that I could remember.

You are able to purchase a game subscription on both consoles, The Xbox Game pass and the PS Plus Extra and premium. I believe that the Xbox game Subscription is better because it tends to give you access to more games, while the PlayStation game pass still struggles with cross platform accessibility. The design that I like the most has to be the PlayStation’s design, it reminds me of a spaceship in a way, but I do have to say that I am scared that it is going to fall most of the time. The design on the Xbox is interesting as well too, A lot of people call it “The fridge” because of how boxy it is. Both consoles are the same price (before tax) they come out to be $499 (USD), yes that is expensive I honestly don’t know where I got the money to buy both.

Now that I have written my side review, if I had to get rid of a console, I would probably get rid of my PlayStation 5 since Xbox seems to be better in the areas that catch my attention the most.

Why Does God Allow Evil and Suffering?

By Matthias Carpenter “I don’t know why God would do this to me.” I sat on my neighbor’s couch and watched dumbstruck as the six-foot-tall Vietnam veteran broke down into sobs. “I don’t know why God would do this to me. I’ve lost one wife already, and now He’s taken my second wife!” His cry is echoed by people everywhere. This world is full of pain, sorrow, and death. If God exists, why doesn’t he intervene? Some, like my neighbor, ask this question from the depths of a heart rent by a horrible tragedy. They approach it drowning in an ocean of confusing emotions. Others, as rational inquirers, ask it from their brain rather than from their heart. Either way, the question is valid and demands an answer. It appears to be an open-and-shut case: If the Christian God exists, He is all-powerful and loving. But if there is so much pain and evil in the world, He must be either weak or—even worse—evil Himself. Atheist James Fodor lays out the apparently w...

Side by Side Review: Arizona Sunshine 2 vs Saints & Sinners vs Metro Awakening

T his review will be critiquing and comparing the three games, Arizona Sunshine 2, Saints & Sinners, and Metro Awakening. I have been wanting to try Metro Awakening and Saints & Sinners for a while, and this review gave me a great excuse. These VR games were tied into this review together because of their similarity in genres, horror, and survival shooters. Arizona Sunshine is more of a wild card because it was in a bundle with one of the other two games, and I decided to throw it in for review with the other two games. Brief overview of the Games Montanaro, Simone. “Arizona Sunshine 2, La Recensione - SpaceNerd.it.” SpaceNerd.it, SpaceNerd, 27 Dec. 2023, spacenerd.it/2023/12/arizona-sunshine-2-recensione/. Accessed 20 May 2025. Arizona Sunshine 2 is developed by Vertigo Games and continues the story of the first game. It features a single-player VR first-person narrative-driven campaign. Played as a wisecracking protagonist who gets a companion canine, he names Buddy. You nav...

Subway vs. Firehouse Subs

For years I have been a huge subway fan. Whenever I’m out and want to get lunch, subway is my go-to. My Dad is the one who originally introduced me to Subway, and we often eat it together. He even has own custom sandwich that I’ve modified that I always get every time I go.   I heard about Firehouse Subs from a friend. I wasn’t sure if the brand was new, but they were new to the area and my friend claimed that they were good, maybe even better then Subway. I wanted to argue but I hadn’t actually tried Firehouse Subs yet. So, I decided I’d give it a shot and see which one is better. First, I’ll give some background information on both of them. The first Subway opened in August 1965, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was founded by 17 teen year old Fred DeLuca and nuclear physicist Dr. Peter Buck. The principles that Fred and Dr. Buck had for the franchise are the same as they are today. Value customers and provide satisfactory service, have fresh ingredients and better sandwiche...
