Apple and Samsung have been one of the biggest competitors in the Cellphone industry, and it can be hard to pick which brand suits you best. However, which brand is truly better? There has been debate’s surrounding which phone is better for the longest time, whether its Apple or Samsung. How can we measure and compare the top two leading phone brands in the world? For starters, we will compare them by checking out the Samsung Galaxy S9+, and the Apple iPhone 13.
PRICE
First off,
both cellphones can be offered for ‘free’’ or discounted depending on which
telecommunications company is chosen. This debate will be based on the original
market value of the model. Apple’s iPhone 13 is starting at $799 containing
about 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, The Samsung Galaxy S9+ is starting at $499 with
the same amount of storage as Apple with 256GB. This makes Samsung a better
choice if you’re looking for a cheaper and more affordable phone.
BRAND RELIABILITY
Brand
Reliability is defined as the trustworthiness of a company, and both Samsung
and Apple have great brand reliability when it comes to serving their
customers. Apple gives their customers a choice to purchase AppleCare+ with
both monthly and annual plans. Monthly plans with AppleCare+ can cost around
$13.99 with annual plans of $139.99. Apple provides unlimited accidental damage
protection, hardware charge, and more. Additionally, Samsung has almost the
same warranty but with multiple plans. SamsungCare+ offers unlimited Repairs,
theft and loss coverage, Knox guard Security and much more. SamsungCare+ offers
plans in tiers with the cheapest tier 1 being $8 a month
The Pros & Cons Apple
PRO

We will
start with the Pros of Apple products and the biggest innovation that makes
Apple products unique is what people call ‘’The Apple Look’’. According to a
website What’s the best ‘’Why do people prefer iPhone?’’ they explain
‘’the design of the device has always been both unique and refined… and the
seemingly futuristic curved edges and bevelled case’’.
Another
Pro that Apple products have is their frequent updates that allow users to have
optimal security, fixing bugs, and better performance. As explained by REPART
‘’Apple's frequent IOS updates serve multiple purposes, including enhancing
security, improving performance, introducing new features, fixing
bugs, and maintaining compatibility with new hardware’’.
PRO
#3
Lastly,
many Apple users love the high Security on their Products. On Apples support
page they illustrate that each product has security built into their hardware,
which protects users against data leaks, and personal information.
CONS
#1
The
downside of being an Apple user is that iPhones are on the expensive side, and
if the Apple product has issues, or breaks users pay huge fees. Consumer
reports explain ‘’Among repairs that Apple laptop owners pay for out of
pocket, almost a third cost $300 or more—more than three times the expense for
Windows-based laptops.’’
CONS
#2
Not only
is AppleCare+ on the pricy side their cellphones itself are also expensive no
matter the generation. As mentioned, ‘’iPhones are exorbitantly priced. Even a
two-year-old iPhone is more expensive than a new high-end smartphone’’.
CONS
#3
As well
Apple phones don’t have the best storage systems According to GeeksModo ‘’Apple
only offered iPhone users 5GB of free iCloud storage, which is enough space for
about 1,500 photos’’.
The Pros & Cons of Samsung
PROS
#1
Samsung
phones are generally cheaper and more affordable than Apple products. This is
because Apple is supposed to feel more of a luxury brand compared to Samsung
products. As regarded by PhoneArena ‘’Apple achieves this by selling
high-end phones almost exclusively. Its cheapest phone, the iPhone SE sells for
$400, while Samsung has a huge number of cheaper phones that drag the average
selling price of its phones much lower’’.

Not only
are Samsung phones much more cheaper than Apple, Samsung have one of the best
Innovative Hardware systems. As explained by ProVsCons ‘’Samsung is one
of the most Innovative phone hardware companies in the world. They make the
best phone processor, cameras, and display Samsung’s high-end phones always
features cutting edge technologies’’.
PROS #3

Samsung
products not just phones have great durability by being waterproof, height
drop, and tear resilient. With these features Samsung phones are expected to
last years without damage. Stated by W3-IPEDIA ‘’ Designed
to withstand daily wear and tear, Samsung phones exude reliability, ensuring
they remain intact and functional even after prolonged use’’.
CONS
#1
Even
though Samsung has great features and performance they also have issues with their
phones. Consumers have expressed their concern over Samsungs poor thermal
management system, which is the system is supposed to help phones cool when
using certain apps. As expressed by ProsVsCons ‘’The phone sometimes
becomes so hot that it becomes very hard to hold it in hand. It’s mainly
because of Samsung’s poor battery management system or lack of battery
management’’.
CONS
#2
Along side
that Samsung has a lack of Software updates in their system. However, some may
say it’s more of a con, but it can help the phone keep running smoothly with no
problems. Lasty, GPS issues are very common is Samsung phones making it
frustrating for people trying to catch the local transit or track an online
order. This is usually as explained by ProsVsCons due to the poor GPS
Hard drive.
My Final Opinion
Photo by Daniel Romero on Unsplash
In
Conclusion, I have personally had the opportunity to own both Samsung and Apple
products. The brand that I best prefer is Samsung over Apple, because Samsung
products are cheaper, and have cheap brand reliability with 24/7 customer
service. In my daily life I use Samsung for work, school, and personal reasons,
and I prefer Samsung for those daily situations. However, maybe you’re looking
for more of a stylish and personal phone Apple is the phone for you. Or if you
are on a budget and looking for an effective and cheaper alternative Samsung is
your phone of choice.
